Almost all of our vegan meat alternatives are based on wheat protein, also known as "seitan". Seitan was developed over a thousand years ago by Buddhist monks as a meat substitute. Seitan is a completely natural product made from wheat. Wheat flour is separated by water into its components starch and wheat gluten.
Vegusto's vegan meat alternatives are refined with additional - artisanal - processes to create products that meet all expectations:
For our meat alternatives, we only use high-quality organic vegetable oils with a high vitamin E content and plenty of unsaturated fatty acids. Vegusto does not use palm fat. Instead, we use valuable organic coconut oil. It may be more expensive, but it is simply better for us and our environment.
